The following kashrus notice is from the Vaad Hoir of St. Louis dated March 10, 2005.
This is to inform the public that new guidelines have been set up regarding the use of the OV symbol on bagged salads and vegetables. All bagged salads and vegetables with the OV symbol stamped as part of the date code are now certified by the Vaad Hoeir of St. Louis and according to Halacha, do not have to be checked before using. Old packaging bearing the preprinted OV symbol (and no OV symbol stamped with the date code) is being depleted and products in this packaging should be checked before using.
The following kashrus alert is from the Vaad Hoir of St. Louis dated February 18, 2005.
Effective immediately and until further notice, all bagged salads of any type bearing the OV symbol must be checked for bugs before using.
