The following South African kashrus alert is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on April 20, 2007.
The Beth Din advises that all Woolworths prepared vegetables which require checking (cabbage, lettuce etc), are not to be considered insect free unless they bear the Beth Din logo. Prepared Vegetables without any other ingredients, which do not reqiure checking (carrots, butternut, potato etc) may be used even without a Beth Din logo.
