The following kashrus alert is from KOAOA (Half Moon K) on June 22, 2007 .

The KOAOA (Half-Moon K) symbol appears on some limited distribution bags of pre-washed salads. Due to insect infestation issues, the hechsher is being removed from all pre-washed salads with the exception of pure iceberg lettuce. As bags are being reprinted, consumers may find some in the marketplace with a hechsher. We recommend consulting your Rav as to if such products should be used and how to best check them.
