Consumer Kashrut Alerts

The following kashrus notice is from the KOAOA (Half-Moon K) on November 7, 2007.
Natural Ovens of Manitowac - Healthy Beginnings White Wheat Bread bearing the KOAOA kosher symbol is not presently pas yisroel. This is a clarification, as the label does not state that the product is pas yisroel. This bread, a 2-pound large loaf, is only sold in Costco stores in the Midwest Region. It is kosher and pareve under our certification as indicated on the label.
Consumers are reminded that Natural Ovens of Manitowac Hot Dog Buns, Hamburger Buns, Dinner Rolls and Bagels bearing the KOAOA certification symbol are kosher, pareve and are pas yisroel, even though the pas yisroel statement is not on the label.
Please contact the KOAOA at info@kosher.org for any further clarification on this or any other KOAOA certified products.

The following kashrus notice is from the KOAOA (Half-Moon K) on September 6, 2007.

Effective immediately, all Natural Ovens of Manitowoc rolls and bagels bearing the Half-Moon K kosher symbol are Pas Yisroel. Product in the market place on or after September 6, 2007 carries this kosher status, even though the labels do not state "Pas Yisroel" at this time. This includes all varieties of bagels, Hot Dog Buns, Hamburger Buns and Dinner Rolls. We thank the company for working with us so that this kosher status could be arranged in time for the Aseres Yemei T'Shuva.

The following kashrus alert is from the Chicago Rabbinical Council on July 25, 2007.

Only those Natural Ovens of Manitowoc Label products bearing the cRc logo and the legend "Pas Yisroel" are guaranteed to be Pas Yisroel.

The following kashrus alert is from the KOAOA (Half Moon K) on July 16, 2007.

Natural Ovens of Manitowoc Hot Dog Buns and Hamburger Buns bearing our symbol are kosher and pareve, however they do not meet Pas Yisroel standards at this time, and are no longer labeled as Pas Yisroel. We are working with the company to establish proper Pas Yisroel procedures and hope that this will be accomplished soon. Please note that this only pertains to Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns and only those packaged with our symbol on the label. Other Natural Ovens products certified by other agencies continue their Pas Yisroel status as stated on the labels.
