The following kashrus alert is from the Star-K on October 12, 2007.

The United Jewish Community will be hosting their GA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, November 11-13, 2007. Their website states, “Meals: All food served and sold by UJC at the GA is under the supervision of the Nashville Kashrut Commission in consultation with Star-K.”
The Star-K, in fact, assumes no responsibility for the kashrus standards of the event. The local kashrus agency, exclusively in charge of the event, did direct kashrus questions to and consulted with one of our rabbis, but that was the extent of the Star-K’s involvement. The Star-K does not know the identity of the mashgichim, the standards of the local certification, or which supervisions are being accepted on the products used.
