The following South African kashrus alert is from the Cape Town Beth Din on January 28, 2008.
The Woolworths chicken stock granules has been reformulated and is no longer kosher. The reformulated product has the Beth Din Logo covered with a sticker. The old stock (and there is still quite a lot around) bearing the Beth Din logo is kosher. Product having dehydrated chicken as an ingredient is of course NOT kosher. Should any of the latter (non kosher product) be found bearing a visible BD logo, please contact the Cape Beth Din (ph 021 461 6310, fax 021 461 8320, email kashrut@uoscape.co.za) giving the branch of Woolworths store where it was found / purchased.
