The following kashrus alert is from the Chicago Rabbinical Council on March 3, 2009.

Excelsior Cuisines, a catering service located in the Chicago area, offers a "kosher" menu to their clients that they claim to be under cRc certification.
Excelsior Cuisines does not prepare any of these foods and is not itself under the certification of the cRc, but are offering kosher foods prepared at a cRc kosher certified location. They do not offer “full service catering”.
These foods are only cRc certified when the food is delivered to the end user in containers sealed by the cRc mashgiach at the original cRc supervised restaurant and is no longer certified kosher once the seals are broken.
