The following South African kashrus alert is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on December 9, 2009.

Checkers Balfour Park has advertised a kosher bakery, butchery, deli and fish deli. Please be advised that following the renovation, NONE of the above are under Beth Din supervision. Checkers have placed Magen Davids on their signage - these signs are meaningless. The Beth Din takes absolutely no responsibility for the kashrut in the abovementioned departments.
