The following Canadian health alert is from the CFIA on December 22, 2010.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Réal Veer inc. are warning the public not to serve or consume the Shell Eggs described below because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The raw shell eggs, product of USA, were sold in boxes containing 15 dozen eggs bearing lot code SEA-1024796 and Best Before date JAN-18-11 (January 18, 2011) to restaurants and other food service clients and other end-users. This product has been distributed in Quebec.
The importer, Réal Veer inc., Sainte-Claire, QC is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
