Consumer Kashrut Alerts

The following chodesh information is from Yoseph Herman on July 5, 2012.

It appears that the new Chodosh season may start very early this year, maybe 2 weeks or more earlier than originally estimated. This means that oats may start becoming Chodosh as early in 1-2 weeks and wheat and barley as early as the end of July or early August. The next agriculture harvest report is due the coming Monday or Tuesday. After that report I will update this information.
Note that according to the O-U, oats from General Mills, Quaker and Malt-O-Meal should be Yoshon at least through Sept 15.
