The following South African kashrus notice is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on July 20, 2012.
Further to our notice of 17 July, we can now confirm that over the next few days, supervised Chalav Yisrael Mozarella, Feta and Haloumi will be delivered to various stores including Kosherworld, Checkers Balfour Park, selected Pick 'n Pays, Spar Savoy, Spar Sandringham, Spar Norwood and Corner Cafe. These cheeses should now be available on an on-going basis. In the next few days production of hard yellow cheese will commence (e.g. cheddar) but these will take approximately 6 weeks to age and mature.
Kosherworld and Corner Cafe will be receiving retail packs today (Friday 20 July). These cheeses will be branded with the “Harryson’s” label.
Please Note: “Harryson’s” also manufactures regular kosher cheese bearing the Beth Din Milchik logo, therefore, those who require supervised Chalav Yisrael cheese must ensure that the cheese bears a Beth Din Chalav Yisrael sticker.
The following South African kashrus notice is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on July 17, 2012.
We are aware of the current shortage of "Chalav Yisrael" supervised yellow cheese, which is the result of a change in management and operations at Dairy World. Milk, soft cheese and other dairy products are still being manufactured. We have had some new applications for yellow cheese production and these should be available in the near future.
