The following health alert is from the Wegman's and Wegman's on April 12, 2013.

The following Wegmans Organic Apple Juice and Organic Cranberry Juice Blend (64oz) have been recalled because of the presence of patulin. Patulin is a mycotoxin produced by the Penicillium mold.

• Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Organic Apple Juice, 64 oz - UPC: 77890-20605-8 with Expiration Dates of 1/28/2014 through 3/19/2014.
• Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Organic Cranberry Juice Blend, 64oz - UPC: 77890-26689-2 with an Expiration Date of 11/5/2013.

These two products have been recalled because Wegmans supplier (Clement Pappas & Co.) sent a notification that an ingredient (apple juice concentrate) was found to have an unacceptable level of patulin (a by-product of mold). Only bottles with the specific expiration dates noted above have been recalled.
Although the risk of illness is remote, consumers are advised to dispose of the juice and bring the empty container back to the service desk for a full refund. Please do not consume the juice.
