The CFIA has recalled in-shell hazelnuts because they may contain Salmonella. These hazelnuts came from Hazelnut Growers of Oregon. The nuts were distributed to a number of bakeries and markets in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and were sold in packages or in bulk. They were also sold in the United States, but there has not been a recall. "Oregon produces almost all of the hazelnuts, or filberts, in the United States."
