The following dairy allergy alert is from the FDA a on June 25, 2013.
Price Chopper Supermarket, Schenectady, NY is voluntarily recalling three varieties of Burst Cookies- Brownie, Almond and Raspberry - a frozen cookie produced by Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery and baked off in all of the chain's in-store bakeries, due to the presence of milk, a known allergen, which was not declared on the ingredient label.
The presence of milk in this product was discovered by one of Price Chopper's corporate quality assurance agents who traced it back to inaccurate ingredient label information submitted by Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery to the chain in September 2012, providing the impetus for the recall to include product with sell-by dates of September 5, 2012 through June 21,2013.
Customers are encouraged to return any packages of Burst cookies to the store for a full refund.
Customers with questions may speak to a Price Chopper Customer Service Agent by calling the chain's in-house Customer Communications Center at 1-800-666-7667 X3 between 8:30AM and 7:00PM Monday through Friday or between 1 O:OOAM and 4:00PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Ed. note: Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery is certified as kosher. I do not know if the individual Price Chopper Supermarket bakeries are certified as kosher.
