The original alert from the OU on August 12: The Orthodox Union certified Coco Libre Coconut Milk, Maverick Brands, Palo Alto CA as an OU D-Dairy product because it is processed on the same equipment as dairy products. Some stores sell boxes of Coco Libre Coconut Milk, each box contains four individual containers of Coco Libre. The individual containers are correctly labeled with an OU D, however, the outer box has a plain OU without the D-Dairy designation. Corrective measures are being implemented.

Information from the OU on August 19, 2014: "Please note that the OU-D coconut water in the recent alert is in fact pareve. The OU had allowed this company to make coconut water at 2 different plants, one which processes dairy, so all their labels had OU-D labels in case they used the dairy plant. It came to the RC’s attention that in fact, this company has stopped using the dairy plant and does not intend to use it in the foreseeable future. So the product is pareve, made on pareve equipment."
