The following alert is from the Vaad of Denver on September 13, 2015 and September 17, 2015.
"Canned fruits not originating from China and Israel do not require kosher certification, if they only contain one or more of the following ingredients: Ascorbic acid, citric acid, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, salt, sugar, water. Note: Other ingredients may require kosher certification. Check with our office for further information."
"Canned vegetables: All canned vegetables need reliable kosher certification. Included are canned vegetables that list only the vegetables, salt and water as ingredients. "
From Kosher Australia (9/29/2015): Australia canneries will can fruit, veg and tarfus on the same lines under heat without a proper kashering, therefore, in Australia cnned fruit and vegetables both need need certification.
