February 9, 2016 - Tanimura and Antel Artisan romaine Lettuce no longer bears KORC Kosher Certification because of insect infestation.
From KORC: "At the present time the Company cannot assure that the growing process is as effective as it was previously. The recent drought followed by heavy rains have impacted their production and field management. Therefore, until such time as they and we can be totally assured of the insect free nature of the product beyond all doubt, the company will no longer market the product as kosher certified. Tanamura and Antel have been very much involved in attempting to solve the problem and we look forward to their success in doing so. We wish to alert the consumer that if, as most do, they first rinse the individual leaves of romaine, the product is fine, kosher, and is an excellent lettuce."
