Please be advised that due to improper handling during distribution, bags of Heckers All Purpose flour (5LB) with Best Buy Dates Dec 04 2020 and Dec 05 2020 should be sifted prior to use.

This alert does not apply to other bag codes or in areas outside of New York and New Jersey.

Jan, 2020 & December 30th, 2020- Heckers flour bugs found - must be sifted. Flour bugs found in Heckers flour, purchased in a numerous tri-state (NY/NJ) stores dated December 30th 2020. Unknown, how long in stores storage.

• Put the container of flour in strong, food-grade plastic bag. If the flour bag is packaged in paper, put the whole bag inside a food-grade plastic bag.
• Remove excess air from the bag and seal tightly.
• Freeze the flour for two days—48 hours—to kill off weevils or insect eggs in the flour.
• Pour the flour into a food-grade plastic container with a tight-fitting lid. Keep in cool, dark place to prevent insects from getting at the flour and to prevent sunlight from spoiling the flour.
