Concord Farms Recalls Enoki Mushrooms Due to Possible Health Risk

California Terra Garden Inc. of Commerce, CA is recalling all cases of its 150g/5.3-ounce packages of Seafood Mushroom (Product of China) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled products were distributed from California through produce distributors or wholesalers to retail stores nationwide.

The Seafood mushroom comes in a clear plastic package with the description “Seafood Mushroom” in English and French, and Guan’s logo in the front. At the back, there is UPC code, 859267007501. Product code is 3460 at the back top right.

The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by California Health Department revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in one 150g package of Seafood mushroom.

Consumers who have purchased any package of Seafood mushroom are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with question may contact the company at 323.597.0346, Monday to Friday 9 am to 4 pm.

Marquis Worldwide Specialty Inc. Recalls Organic Enoki Mushroom 200g Because of Possible Health Risk

Marquis Worldwide Specialty Inc of City of Industry, CA is recalling All of the Organic Enoki Mushroom 200g, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Organic Enoki mushroom 200g was distributed nationwide from California and it reached to consumers through retail stores and other produce wholesalers.

It is packed by each 200g individual plastic package and the package is clear on top and orange on the bottom part. It has ‘Conah Organic enoki mushroom’ written on front.

The mushroom is white and has almost no smell. As it is vegetable, it does not have a clear date of expiration.

We are investigating to determine where contamination occurred. Consumers who have purchased 200g packages of ‘Conah Organic Enoki Mushroom’ are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-626-810-6426 Monday – Friday 7 am to 4 pm.

Rainfield Marketing Group, Inc. of Vernon, CA is Recalling Enoki Mushrooms (Product of Korea) Because it has the Potential to be Contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes

Rainfield Marketing Group, Inc. of Vernon, CA is recalling all cases of its 150g packages of Enoki Mushrooms (Product of Korea.

The recalled products were distributed to CA, MD, and TX through produce distributors or wholesalers to retail stores nationwide.

The Enoki comes in a 150g, clear plastic and orange packaging with the description “Enoki Mushroom” in English and labeled “Product of Korea” along with “Must be cooked enough for a minimum of 3-10 minutes at 70°C, DO NOT CONSUME RAW”. On the back left of packaging, there is UPC code 085412004020 and below Distributed by Rainfield Marketing Group, on the right a list of Nutrition Facts.

The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by California Department of Public health revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in 150g package of Enoki.

Consumers who have purchased 150g packages of Enoki are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at (323) 825-2825. Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 4:00PM.

Israeli Allergen Alert - Mr. Cake Ltd. Company

Mr. Cake Ltd. Company informs all its clients that upon an inspection, held by the Food Service of the Central District, it was revealed that in the label of the following products, which include allergenic components, listed in the components list, their labeling was omitted in information regarding allergens.

Below is information regarding the aforementioned products:

  1. Halva Spread 500 grams
    Information on sesame allergen was omitted from information regarding allergens, even though it was listed in the components list.
    All expiry dates until 08/09/22 (including).
    The product was packed by Mr. Cake Ltd.
    Consumers with allergy to sesame and additional allergens, listed in product label, are requested not to consume this product.
  2. Latte Nutella Kinder Bueno Spread 500 grams.
    Information on milk allergen was omitted from information regarding allergens, even though it was listed in the components list.
    All expiry dates until 11/01/22 (including)
    .The product was packed by Mr. Cake Ltd.
    Consumers with allergy to milk and additional allergens, listed in product label, are requested not to consume this product.

Israeli Kashrut and Dairy Allergen Alert - A. Biscotti Dairy Oreo Stripe Cake

The manufacturer A. Biscotti Ltd. is issuing a recall for its product: Dairy Oreo Stripe Cake because upon inspection by the Food Service in Tel Aviv Public Health Bureau, it was found that the product "Dairy Oreo Stripe Cake" was released to the market with thewrong label "Parve Oreo Stripe Cake" attached to the front part of the package (on the bottom part of the package, a correct sticker was attached, with the list of ingredients, nutritional values and list of allergens, including a warning for people withdairy allergies, stating "Kosher Dairy").

66 units of the product have been released to the market. According to our investigation, this product was only sold to one consumer (whom we've contacted and resolved the issue before any damage was done) and we have managed to locate the other products in the other points of sale. Consumers with known allergies to milk and to the other allergens listed in the label are urged not to consume it. A. Biscotti Ltd. is recalling this product from the shelves. This recall is coordinated with the Food Service in the Ministry of Health. You may contact A Biscotti at 072-2213132.

Tiger Nuts Inc. Recalls Tiger Nuts Flour in Kilo’s (2.2 Lbs) Because of Possible Health Risk

Tiger Nuts Inc of Newburgh, New York is recalling 200 Kilo’s (440 lbs) of its Tiger Nuts Flour which was sold in 1 Kilo Boxes (2.2 lbs) at 1 retail store in Bend and Corvallis Oregon, 1 retail store in Liberty Missouri, and 3 online bakers, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The batch of Tiger Nuts Flour referred to, is sold only in 1 Kilo Boxes (2.2 lbs) which are printed tan and blue, with the word “Tiger Nuts FLOUR” on the front, with a blue hand tag above. The back of the pack has the UPC code 7 00161 41013 6 and reads “Best before end: see base”, and the base has a sticker with expiration date October 2021.

Background information: Tiger Nuts Inc was notified by their Spanish growers Tiger Nuts S.L. in Valencia Spain that a customer in Germany had reported Salmonella content in their Tiger Nuts extra fine flour. The supplier Tiger Nuts S.L. and the German customer are continuing to investigate the occurrence and are keeping us updated. The specific we received in November 2020 was completely sold through by January 2021. And at this time there have been zero illnesses reported to date, as of 5/27/2021.

Any consumer who has a concern about the Tiger Nuts Flour in 2.2 lbs boxes with expiration October 2021 should return the product to the location where they purchased it and will get a full refund or contact Tiger Nuts Inc at 1-305 407 3844 (Eastern Time Zone).

South African Kashrut Alert - Pesto Princess

May 28: From South African Beth Din:

Cape Town Beth Din has informed us that Pesto Princess introduced a non-kosher ingredient into the factory that has unfortunately affected certain products. The following Pesto Princess products are therefore currently not kosher with or without a BD logo and should be discarded (if used, keilim do NOT need kashering):

"The company is working to find a possible alternative solution going forward and are sorry for any inconvenience caused."

Canadian Kashrus Alert - Amsellem - Mike the Butcher

May 28, 2021 from the MK:

Please be advised that AMSELLEM KNOWN AS MIKE THE BUTCHER situated at 5450 Westminster, Cote St. Luc, Quebec H4x 2a5 has requested they no longer wish to have MK kosher certification.  

Effective immediately, the MK NO LONGER certifies this establishment.
This does not affect Maison Amsellem situated at 2079 Rue St Louis who remain under MK strict supervision.
