The following wheat and almond allergy alert is from the FDA on January 30, 2015.

SOLE GRANO LLC of Fair Lawn, NJ is recalling its 12 oz. Fairway - Like No Other Market Organic Cranberry Low Fat Granola, because it may contain undeclared almond and wheat allergens.
Fairway – Like No Other Market Organic Cranberry Low Fat Granola was sold at fifteen Fairway Stores in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York.
The product is sold in clear plastic 12 oz. containers labeled as Fairway – Like No Other Market Organic Cranberry Low Fat Granola with UPC Code 758940600155 and the following Lot # and Expiration Dates printed on the labels on the side of the products:

  • Lot# 11142017 Expiration Date 10/01/2015
  • Lot# 12142018 Expiration Date 10/01/2015
  • Lot# 01152008 Expiration Date 01/25/2016
No other Fairway branded products were affected by this voluntary recall.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered by Fairway on the 28th of January 2015 after a customer complained to the Store Manager that the product contains almonds although it was not declared on the label. Eventually the store manager contacted Fairway Corporate office and they have contacted our company and advised about the mislabeling of the product. Fairway has posted notices of the recall at its stores and has pulled the affected products of the shelves. Subsequent investigation indicates that the problem was caused due to mislabeling during the printing of the labels for the product.
Customers who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase where they will receive a full refund. Consumers with questions or willing to organize a return may contact Sole Grano LLC at (201)797-7100 Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.

The following health alert is from the FDA on January 30, 2015.

Whole Foods Market is recalling packaged raw macadamia nuts due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The product was labeled as "Whole Foods Market Raw Macadamia Nuts" and was packaged in 5.6 oz. plastic tubs. The recalled products have sell-by dates of 4/22/15, 5/4/15 and 5/6/15 and a UPC code of 7-23055-21415-3. The recalled product was distributed to Whole Foods Market, Greenlife Grocery, and Harry’s Farmers Market stores in AL, GA, MS, NC, SC and TN.

Based upon routine testing conducted by an FDA-contracted laboratory, it was determined that the raw macadamia nuts products tested positive for Salmonella.

Customers who have purchased this product at Whole Foods Market, Greenlife Grocery or Harry’s Farmers Market stores in the affected states should discard it and may bring in their receipt for a full refund.

The following peanut allergy alert is from the FDA on February 2, 2015.

The Spice Mill of Manchester, CT is voluntarily recalling ground cumin and Cajun Seasoning products because they may contain undeclared peanut proteins.
The product is sold at local markets in CT and through The Spice Mill's website and retail store in Manchester, CT.
This recall affects the following products:

These products were packaged in November, December and January and are packaged in plastic bottles with a black flip-top lid. The Lot number is printed directly on the bottle in black ink.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered that ingredients from a single supplier used in the affected products were contaminated with peanut proteins. This allergen was not declared on the products' ingredient statement.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact The Spice Mill at 860-645-3853 from 9am to 5pm EST Monday-Friday, or email at info@espicemill.com for additional information.

The following milk allergy alert is from the FDA on January 30,2015.

Flowers Foods, Thomasville, GA is voluntarily recalling Market Basket Fork Split 6 count Original English Muffins with the UPC code 0 49705 82137 4 and best by dates of November 27, 2014 through February 6, 2015 because they contain undeclared milk.
The recalled product was distributed through Market Basket Supermarkets in Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire.
The recall was initiated after Flowers discovered that product containing milk was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk.
Flowers has alerted Market Basket, which has removed this product from its stores. Flowers is recovering the product involved to ensure the continued safety of those consumers who may be impacted by this issue. The recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company also has reported the recall to FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education). Consumers who have purchased Market Basket Fork Split 6 count Original English Muffins with the UPC and dates noted are urged to return it to a Market Basket Supermarket for product replacement or refund. No other Market Basket brand products are included in this recall.

The following health alert is from the FDA on January 30,2015.

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black is alerting Georgians to the recall of certain pecan products for potential health risk. The products were distributed only in the State of Georgia, directly to consumers at the retail level from the Stone Mountain Pecan Company, located in Monroe.
The Stone Mountain Pecan Company is recalling 540 packages of the “Pecanettes” sold in 8-ounce packages, because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
Based upon random sampling conducted by the GDA, it was determined the “Pecanettes” products tested positive for Salmonella. The products were sold in 8-ounce clear plastic packages, Lot code 4032A, with a “sell by date” of 12/30/15.
At this time, Pecanettes with lot number 4032A are the only products affected by this recall. To date, there have been no reports of illnesses associated with this recall.
Consumers who have purchased the Pecanettes are encouraged to return the product for a full refund. Consumers with questions or concerns may contact the company at 770-207-6486 between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday.

The following peanut allergy alert is from the FDA on January 29,2015.

Aleias Gluten Free Foods, LLC has issued a voluntary and precautionary recall of certain lots of its 8 ounce Parmesan Croutons and Classic Croutons because they may contain undeclared peanut protein. People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled products were distributed nationwide in grocery stores and through web orders.
The product is packaged in a brown cardboard box with white text. The Lot Number can be found on the window side of the package. All potentially affected lot numbers are as follows:
