The following dairy allergy alert is from the FDA a on June 25, 2013.

Price Chopper Supermarket, Schenectady, NY is voluntarily recalling three varieties of Burst Cookies- Brownie, Almond and Raspberry - a frozen cookie produced by Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery and baked off in all of the chain's in-store bakeries, due to the presence of milk, a known allergen, which was not declared on the ingredient label.
The presence of milk in this product was discovered by one of Price Chopper's corporate quality assurance agents who traced it back to inaccurate ingredient label information submitted by Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery to the chain in September 2012, providing the impetus for the recall to include product with sell-by dates of September 5, 2012 through June 21,2013.
Customers are encouraged to return any packages of Burst cookies to the store for a full refund.
Customers with questions may speak to a Price Chopper Customer Service Agent by calling the chain's in-house Customer Communications Center at 1-800-666-7667 X3 between 8:30AM and 7:00PM Monday through Friday or between 1 O:OOAM and 4:00PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Ed. note: Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery is certified as kosher. I do not know if the individual Price Chopper Supermarket bakeries are certified as kosher.

The following health alert is from the FDA a on June 14, 2013.

Lipari Foods of Warren, MI is recalling Raw Sunflower Seeds, Roasted Sunflower Seeds and Snack Mixes, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Raw Sunflower Seeds, Roasted Sunflower Seeds, and Snack Mixes were distributed from April 5th 2013 to June 11th 2013 to manufacturers and retailers in the following states: Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana.
In total there are 52 items affected by this recall. List of recalled products is at here. Detailed information will be mailed out to each store affected by the recall.
The recall was the result of a routine sampling program by the Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDA) which revealed that retail packaged raw sunflower seed products contained Listeria monocytogenes. These findings led to an investigation by Lipari Foods concluding that bulk raw sunflower seeds purchased from a supplier was the source of the contamination and that these sunflower seeds had also been used in other snack mix products and may have also resulted in cross contamination to roasted sunflower seeds and snack mix products during production. Lipari Foods has ceased the procurement, processing, and distribution of the product as the FDA and Lipari Foods continue their investigation as to what caused the problem.
Consumers with questions may contact the company at (586)447-3500 Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM EST. Pictures of recalled products is at www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm356773.htm

The following walnut allergy alert is from the FDA a on June 12, 2013.

Butterfly Bakery, St. Augustine, FL has issued an allergy alert on undeclared Walnuts in 14.5 ounce Butterfly Bakery Whole Grain Harvest Berry Muffins, UPC 6 43482 60014 8. This product has not been produced since November 26, 2012. The product is packed in a clear clam-shell type package with a label which also serves to seal the item.
This recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product was still available and being sold at a single Price Chopper store located in Schenectady, NY. Management had believed that there was no more of this product in circulation since it had not been produced in more than five months and there was no existing stock of the product in possession of the bakery.
At this point all of this product has been removed from the shelves and is no longer available at retail. Butterfly bakery management indicated the problem with this specific retail label was that walnuts had not been included among the ingredients. Corrective steps to prevent a re-occurrence of this type of situation have been put into place.
Consumers are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Additional information is available by contacting the company at (973) 815-1501 or better to e-mail questions or concerns to qc(at)thebutterflybakery(dot)com.
