Sanders Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Almonds in Fudge Mini Bites

June 1, 2018 - FDA

Sanders announced today that it is recalling its 3.75oz Milk Chocolate Covered Fudge Mini Bites because they may contain undeclared almonds.
The recalled 3.75oz Milk Chocolate Covered Fudge Mini Bites were distributed throughout several Michigan retail stores.
The product comes in a 3.75 ounce, gray and black package marked with lot 8109 FL and Best By Date January 31, 2019 ink-jetted on the rear.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the Almond-containing product was inadvertently added to a production line which was packaging product that did not contain Almonds.
Other production dates of the product are not affected.
Consumers who have purchased 3.75oz Milk Chocolate Covered Fudge Mini Bites – specifically those packages with lot 8109 FL and Best By Date January 31, 2019 printed on the rear – are urged to contact Sanders at 1-800-651-7263 Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 EST or info@sanderscandy.com for a full refund or a replacement product of equal value.

Change in Kashrus Certification - Zak The Baker, Miami, FL

May 31, 2018 from the OK:

Please be advised that Zak The Baker Deli (405 NW 26th St, Miami, FL) and Zak The Baker Bakery (295 NW 26th St, Miami, FL) have decided not to renew with OK Kosher.
As of today, May 31st 2018, these establishments are no longer under the supervision of OK Kosher Certification.

Kashrut alert on some Kroger Greek YOgurts and Kroger Frozen Yogurts

May 29, 2018 - COR Detroit and confirmed by the OU:

KROGER GREEK YOGURTS and KROGER FROZEN YOGURTS are OU Dairy certified when bearing an OU-D. Some of the Greek yogurts (Plain and Blended Nonfat) mistakenly bear a plain OU without the D.
Other types of Kroger yogurts are not OU certified and contain gelatin.

Kosher Advisory Post Shredded Wheat

February 26, 2018 from the OU:

Post Shredded Wheat, Post, Lakeville MN is No Longer Certified. Due to changes in the production of Post Shredded Wheat, the Orthodox Union is no longer certifying Post Shredded Wheat.
Boxes of Shredded Wheat with the OU symbol were produced before the changes and are certified by the Orthodox Union.
Post Shredded Wheat without the OU symbol are not certified by the Orthodox Union.
Post Shredded Wheat N Bran is not affected by the changes and will continue to be certified by the Orthodox Union when bearing the OU symbol.
Consumers should always check for the OU kosher symbol before purchasing a product.

May 28, 2018 Addition from the: COR Detroit Big Biscuit Shredded Wheat is also still certified as kosher by the OU; (must bear an OU).

Kashrus Alert - Green's Cheesecake

Green’s Cheesecake, Green’s Bakery, 65 Franklin Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205 has mistaken Use of OK Pareve Symbol:
A limited amount of Green’s Cheesecake, sold at Jewel-Osco locations in the Chicago area, was mistakenly labeled with the OK Pareve symbol, instead of the correct OK D.
This product is certified Kosher, Dairy - Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel, and Yoshon under OK Kosher Certification. Corrective action has been taken.

Food Recall Warning (Allergen) - Ruffles brand Regular Potato Chips recalled due to undeclared milk

May 29, 2018 - COR Detroit

Some 220 g bags of FRITO LAY RUFFLES REGULAR POTATO CHIPS sold in Ontario, Canada were mistakenly filled with Sour Cream 'N Onion potato chips, which are certified COR [Canada] Dairy. The incorrectly filled bags bear the expiration date JL 17 and lot code 6081 13249, and are being recalled. Other lot numbers are not affected.

May 25, 2018 - CFIA

PepsiCo Foods Canada is recalling Ruffles brand Regular Potato Chips from the marketplace because they may contain milk which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to milk should not consume the recalled product described below.
