Sultans Turkish Delight Rose & Lemon listed on p.49 is only approved Parev when sold in boxes. When in the 'Pick & Mix' assortment they contain Carmine (E120) and are therefore Not Kosher.

The following kashrus alert is from the OU on May 10, 2012.

Peppadew Peppers (all varieties), Peppadew International Europe BV, Amsterdam, Netherlands: Products manufactured by Peppadew International in South Africa bearing the OU symbol are certified kosher by the Orthodox Union. Products distributed by Peppadew International Europe BV (PI Europe) are not certified by the Orthodox Union. Some PI Europe products (including Peppers Stuffed with Cheese) primarily sold in the Netherlands mistakenly bear the OU symbol. Corrective measures are being implemented.

The following kashrus alert is from OK on April 9, 2012.

Please be advised that some packages of Hot Cajun Mix, Oriental Nut Mix, Antioxidant Mix sold by Gourmet Nut, Brooklyn, NY, were mistakenly labeled with the OK (pareve) symbol, instead of OK-D. These products are DAIRY. Corrective action has been implemented. If you see these products please contact the OK office at 718-756-7500.

The following soy and milk allergy alert is from the FDA on May 4, 2012.

Cleveland Beansprouts Co. of Cleveland, OH is recalling all alfalfa sprouts because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. All alfalfa sprouts produced by Cleveland Beansprouts are being recalled. There are no lot codes or any other identifier on the product. The alfalfa sprouts were only distributed in Ohio.
The contamination was discovered by the Ohio Department of Agriculture while collecting and testing samples under the United States Department of Agriculture's Microbiological Data Program. No illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased alfalfa sprouts produced by Cleveland Beansprout should discard them.

The following kashrus alert is from the Star-K on May 8, 2012.

Joy Cone brand Ice Cream Cones Fun Pack, sold in Costco Stores, containing 5 individual varieties of cones, among which is a chocolate coated dairy cone, is bearing only the Star-K pareve symbol on the outside box.
The Star-D Dairy symbol pertaining to the chocolate coated cones was inadvertently left off the box.
The individual inside box is labeled correctly.
Corrective action has been taken.

Most Entenmann’s products are OU certified. A few bear other certifications. Consumers should always check products for the kosher certification symbol.
