July 17, 2023 from the FDA:

Cava Foods, Inc., a subsidiary of Cava Group, Inc. in Washington D.C., is issuing a voluntary recall of one lot of its packaged CAVA Spicy Hummus due to the potential for the product to contain undeclared sesame, which is a food allergen.

The single affected product lot was distributed to retailers including Whole Foods Market, Giant Foods, MOM's Organic Market, and regional independent retailers. CAVA’s packaged Spicy Hummus is sold nationwide.

CAVA voluntarily initiated the recall after a single retail store notified the company that packaging lids for CAVA Spicy Labneh (which do not declare sesame as an ingredient) were applied to containers of Spicy Hummus, which contains sesame, a common allergen. The wrong lid was applied to a limited number of Spicy Hummus containers by a third-party supplier.

The affected product is packaged in 8-ounce plastic tubs, labeled on the side with UPC 89832800227, Lot# MD023804, and a Best By Date of August 19, 2023.

Consumers who purchased 8-ounce tubs of CAVA’s Spicy Hummus Lot# MD023804 with a Best By Date of August 19, 2023, on or after June 16 are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. CAVA has set up an email address for retailers -- email recallmanagement@cava.com -- and consumers who have questions can visit cava.com and click on “Contact Support” and the bottom of the page.

Mr. Broadway has closed it's location on Broadway and 37th street, NY, NY. It has relocated to 209 West 38th Street, NY, NY. Due to an error, the restaurant directory on OU Kosher's website mistakenly stated "no longer OU certified". The OU certification of Mr. Broadway continues with the highest standards of kashrus. The website has been corrected. We apologize for any confusion that it may have created.

July 17, 2023 from the FDA:

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of its Outshine No Sugar Added Strawberry Fruit Bars that may contain an undeclared milk allergen. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recall is limited to 6 Count packages of Outshine No Sugar Added Strawberry Fruit Bars with batch numbers LLA317822 and LLA317922 and a Best By date of September 30, 2024.

The affected product was shipped to three retail customers in the following states:

• Kroger (VA, WV, OH and KY)
• Shoprite (MD, PA, VA, DE and NJ)
• Wal-Mart (AR, MO, TN, MS, KY, AL and LA)

Batch codes can be identified on the product packaging. Please use the reference images below and look for batch codes LLA317822 and LLA317922 under “Best By 30 SEP 2024”.

Buttercooky Bakery has an unauthorized Use of OK Kosher Symbol:

Buttercooky Bakery, with locations in Floral Park, Huntington and Manhasset, NY is displaying an unauthorized OK on display signs and packaging.
These establishments are NOT certified by OK Kosher Certification.
Corrective actions are being taken.

Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting with no dairy ingredients bearing an OUD is DE.
