Chambord Desserts Pumpkin Pie, Chambord Desserts, Inc. Brooklyn, NY 11203 mistakenly bears the OK symbol instead of the required OK D symbol. This product contains dairy (as stated in the ingredient list) and is certified kosher dairy.
Corrective action is being taken.

Sabra Dipping Co., LLC is voluntarily recalling certain hummus products made prior to November 8, 2016 due to concerns over Listeria monocytogenes, which was identified at the manufacturing facility but not in tested finished product. The recall includes the products listed below; these were distributed to retail outlets, including food service accounts and supermarkets, in the U.S. and Canada.
Consumers with any product with a “Best Before” date up through January 23, 2017 are urged to discard it. Consumers can find code and “Best Before” date on the lid of each package.

Chickens in Wegmans in Baltimore are being sold with the following in-store statement:
"Our Kosher rotisserie chickens are made with Kosher ingredients using dedicated equipment and utensils. However, there is no Rabbinical supervision."
Please be aware that Jewish law stipulates that all meat and poultry items require Rabbinical supervision throughout, including the cooking process.

November 17, 2016 from the OU:
Gefen Chulent Bean Mix, Gefen Foods, Bayonne NJ: Some bags of Gefen brand Chulent Mix with the UPC# 710069035003 and with a Best By dates ranging from 8/18 to 10/18 were found to contain insects. The Orthodox Union and Gefen requested that possibly affected product should be withdrawn from the marketplace and corrective actions are being implemented.
Under proper storage conditions, it is unusual to find infestation in these products sold in the United States. The kashrus procedures at Gefen meet the highest kashrus standards. However, consumers should be aware that legumes and grains could develop infestation when stored in warm conditions. To determine whether legumes or grains are possibly affected, spread them evenly on a white surface and visually inspect them under good light prior to use.

November 10, 2016 - From the FDA:
Cedar Crest Specialties, Inc. is recalling Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Monster Cookie and Pirate's Bounty ice cream flavors, bearing the following Product Name, Product Code Dates, and container sizes:

Cedar Crest was notified on November 10 that the cookie dough in the above-referenced products, which is manufactured by Aspen Hills, Inc., has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The affected products were distributed in retail stores throughout the Midwest. Cedar Crest Specialties is taking immediate steps to recall all affected products, as a voluntary, preventative safety measure.
Customers who have purchased Cedar Crest Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Monster Cookie and/or Pirate's Bounty flavors, bearing the affected Product Code dates and container sizes, are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Questions may be directed to 1-888-628-0730, Monday-Friday between 8AM and 4PM Central Time.
To date, no illnesses have been reported related to this recall.

Carrefour Houmous is manufactured in Barcelona, Spain and their facility is not Kosher approved. Name of Manufacturer: Rensika SL, Barcelona, Spain Product being sold in France at Carrefour and is not kosher approved.It bears NO kosher symbol.
Note: Just because a product is vegetarian do not assume it might be kosher
November 10, 2016 - From the FDA:
Free2b Foods of Boulder, CO is recalling its chocolate Sun Cups for three specific Sell By dates, because it may contain undeclared milk ingredients. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The recalled chocolate Sun Cups were distributed nationwide in retail stores. Specifics on the recalled products are found below. UPC codes are printed on the back of packages and Sell By dates are stamped in black on the back of packages.

The issue was discovered as a result of a consumer communication. One reaction has been reported to the company to date. Subsequent investigation by the company indicates that this milk-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk. This occurred during a transition the company recently made to remove dairy from its products and facility while moving from a top 7 Allergen-Free facility to a Top 8 Allergen-Free facility. They are now a dedicated Top 8 Allergen-Free manufacturing facility.
If you have these Sun Cups and a milk allergy, do not consume them. Please photograph the package with UPC code, then dispose of them or return them to: Free2b Foods, 5305 Spine Road #E Boulder, CO 80301. Free2b Foods will reimburse or replace products with new chocolate Sun Cups.
