Please be advised that TRIALIA FOODS AUSTRALIA PTY. LTD. is distributing ESKAL POMDELICIOUS 100% NATURAL POMEGRANATE & CRANBERRY JUICE bearing an unauthorized OK symbol on the label. This product was last produced under the OK Kosher Certification in June 2008. Any product found with a later production date is unauthorized and not certified by OK Kosher Certification. Corrective measures are being taken.

The following kashrus alert has been posted on November 8, 2009.

Please be advised that at the the new Star Market in Chestnut Hill, MA they have prominently displayed kosher deli meats in the treif deli counter. More importantly, behind the counter, there are several meat slicers including one labeled "Kosher Only". This is deceptive. Please be advised that there is no rabbinical supervision at the store guaranteeing the kosher status of the slicer or of the deli meat. Let the Kosher consumer beware!
ed. note: The store bakery is certified as kosher by the Rabbinical Council of New England. All breads are pareve and all other items baked in the store (pasteries, cakes etc.) are dairy.

The following peanut allergy alert is from the FAAN on November 6, 2009.

Jelly Belly Candy Company is recalling "Jelly Belly 49 Flavors" cylinder packages, due to undeclared peanut. The mislabeled product was distributed to independent stores nationwide. The 7.5-oz. clear acetate cylinder packages bear lot codes 090925, 090928, 090929, 091001, and UPC 071567989398. Consumers may return the product to Jelly Belly Candy Company, One Jelly Belly Lane, Fairfield, CA 94533. Consumers with questions may call (800) 522-3267.

The following South African kashrus alert is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on October 27, 2009 and confirmed by the Australia Kosher Authority.

Tim Tam biscuits available in South Africa are NOT KOSHER, even when bearing the KA logo on the packaging . According to the Australia Kosher Authority, these are "definitely not kosher unless there is a KA also by the use by date." The non kosher variety will say "Not Kosher" by the use by date.

The following kashrus advisory is from the OK Kosher Supervision on November 2, 2009.

Due to a corporate decision by ConAgra Foods, Inc., Andy Capp's Fries are no longer certified kosher. The OK-D symbol has been removed from Andy Capp’s labels. Any Andy Capp’s products still on the market with labels bearing the OK-D symbol were produced under OK-D supervision and are kosher.

Alexia Foods is issuing nationwide allergy alert and product recall on its Alexia Olive Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Pesto Oven Reds frozen potatoes due to undeclared pine nut allergen The affected product, Alexia Olive Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Pesto Oven Reds, is packaged in 15 oz. white poly bags with a teal-colored graphic banner and pictures seasoned potato wedges on the front bag panel. This voluntary recall is limited to only packages of Alexia Olive Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Pesto Oven Reds bearing the following Sell By dates (shown below) printed on the upper left back panel of the poly package with the UPC # 34183 00108. No other Alexia frozen or shelf stable products are affected.

The following allergy alert is from the FDA on October 30, 2009. .

Morningstar Foods is voluntarily recalling 32-ounce Great Value Half & Half, UPC 6 05388 187 16 1, item code 1871600, plant code 21-031; 32-ounce Great Value 36% Heavy Whipping Cream, UPC 6 05388 187 18 5, item code 1871800, plant code 21-031; 32-ounce Kroger brand 36% Heavy Whipping Cream, UPC 0 11110 438 28 7, item code 4382900, plant code 21-031; and 64-ounce Wholesome Farms Chocolate Ice Cream Mix, UPC 0 74865 57 983 4 (if purchased in a multi-pack, the UPC code is 1 00 74865 57983 1), item code 5798300, plant code 21-031 because these products may contain soy protein. The individual cartons are printed with a use by date of December 16, 2009 for the Great Value items; December 16 and 17, 2009 for the Kroger item; and January 7, 2010 for the Wholesome Farms item. Consumers can find the expiration date and the plant code on the top of the gable top package. The UPC code will either be located on the back or the side panel of the gable top carton. No other Great Value, Kroger or Wholesome Farms products are involved in this recall. Consumers who purchased the product may return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
