Voluntary Recall of Non Organic Gogo Squeez Applesauce Pouches

March 4, 2016 - From the FDA:

New York, NY Materne North America Corp. (MNA) is voluntarily recalling specific packages of GoGo squeeZ® applesauce pouches due to potential adulteration from food product residue. The recalled applesauce pouches have a Best Before Date of 12/4/15-3/4/17 and a 5 digit production code beginning “US” followed by 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or 08, which consumers can identify on the back of the pouch or on the bottom of the box, and “Product of USA” displayed under the Nutrition Facts Panel on the box. Any products labeled as organic are not impacted by the recall.
Consumers who have purchased GoGo squeeZ® applesauce pouches with Best Before Date of 12/4/15-3/4/17 please contact GoGo squeeZ® at 1-844-275-5841 or visit their website at www.gogosqueez.com to request a replacement voucher.
Materne takes food safety matters very seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, the company is removing the specific pouches with affected codes. Materne is coordinating with MDARD and is implementing corrective steps to prevent future occurrences.
Production of the product mentioned above has been suspended while MNA and MDARD officials continue their investigation as to the source of the problem. Please note this does not include organic products.

Kosher Alert: Delices de la Foret COR 267 Product Mislabeling

February 25, 2016 - The COR Twitter Feed had 2 kashrus alerts regarding products labeled COR267:

Délices Vailli Copeaux de Chocolate Noir Dark Chocolate Shavings 2 kg was inadvertently labeled without a ‘dairy’ designation. The product is DAIRY and kosher certified.
Mélange Alegria Mix 1 kg was inadvertently labeled with a COR 267. This product is not under certification.

9.1 ounce Snack Size Jolly Rancher Bites and Twizzlers Bites Contains Non-Kosher Filled Gummies

February 26, 2016 - From Kashrus Magazine:
Snack Size Jolly Rancher Bites and Twizzlers Bites, in the 9.1 ounce packaging distributed by The Hershey Company (Hershey, PA), contains three varieties of candies: non-kosher Jolly Rancher Bites Filled Gummies—Watermelon, Green Apple and Cherry (.7 ounce size) together with two “OU”-certified varieties, Twizzlers Bites Mixed Berry and Jolly Rancher Bites Soft Chews. The Filled Gummies contain non-kosher gelatin. The outer packaging bears two “OU” symbols. The non-kosher Jolly Rancher Bites do not bear an “OU” and there is a small disclaimer saying “Package contains kosher and non-kosher items.” Caveat emptor! Let the buyer beware.
