The following health alert is from the CFIA on May 31, 2009.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume Tehina Real Mediterranean because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The affected product is sold in 500 g plastic bottles bearing lot code EXP28/12/2010 and UPC 7 290010 304011. Other than the product name ("Tehina Real Mediterranean") and serving instructions, all other label information is in Hebrew and Arabic. The product was distributed to a limited number of grocery stores and kosher markets in Montreal. Larger size copy of label is here. The importer, Épices Gan Eden is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall. The following kashrus advisory is from the OK on May 28, 2009.

Please be advised that a limited amount of SUPER A TOASTED OATS CEREAL distributed by ASSOCIATED FOOD STORES was mislabeled with the OK label. This product is not certified by OK Kosher Certification. Corrective action is being taken."

The following kashrus alert is from the OU on May 27, 2009.

Christie Triscuits Parmesan Garlic Thin Crisps, Kraft Canada- Don Mills, ON: This certified product contains dairy ingredients as listed on the ingredient panel but the dairy designation has been inadvertently omitted. Future packaging will be revised.

The following kashrus alert is from the Kof-K on May 26, 2009 .

Meijer Naturals Woodsey Wildlife Oatmeal Animal Cookies and Vanilla Animal Cookies were mislabeled with a plain KOF-K. The products are KOF-K Dairy. Corrective measures are being taken.

The following revised kashrus alert is from Kosher Technical Konsultants on May 26, 2009 and the Star-K on May 27, 2009.

Cream -O- Land Milk Products Company upon their reprinting some of their cartons had inadvertently been printed with the Star K instead of the intended Shield Star K D. The error was immediately corrected.
Star-K does not certify any CREAM-O-LAND milk and the milk is not cholov Yisroel. The milk is sold in the Tri-State area. Cconsumers will see "NOT STAR-K" printed on each bottle label. Signs to this effect are being posted in stores.

The following kashrus notice is from the OK Kosher Certificationon May 26, 2009 .

"All products baked at 15th Ave. Food Corp. (4322 15th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) sold under the names Korn’s/Stern’s/Kohen’s are under the OK Kosher Certification and adhere to the highest standard of Kashrus. This has been in place for the past many years and continues now and iy’H the future. The Laromme brand has been added on in the last year or so, as well.
All products are Pas Yisroel (and Yoshon when written on the label); all dairy is Cholov Yisroel, with a mashgiach timidi on the premises”.

These products are no longer certified by the Volover Rav. They have been under the certification of the Central Rabbinical Congress since May 12, 2009. Link to certificate is here

The following kashrus alert is from the Rabbinical Council of New England on May 26, 2009 .

This is to inform you that products from Turano Baking Company, Berwyn, IL, is no longer under supervision of the Vaad Harabonim of New England even with the KVH symbol on it. The KVK kosher emblem is being removed from the packaging.

Mrs. Jay' Cookies, previously thought to have an unauthorized OK Kosher pareve label, is in fact kosher, pareve certified by OK Kosher Certification when bearing the OK logo.
