Agri Star Meat & Poultry, a Postville, Iowa establishment, is recalling approximately 1,690 pounds of beef products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products may contain peanuts, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label.

Imagine Flavor, Inc / Imagine Chocolate, Inc., Studio City, CA: Imagine Flavor is selling chocolates bearing an unauthorized OK (pareve) kosher symbol on the packaging. These products are not certified by OK Kosher Certification and contain dairy ingredients. Corrective measures are being implemented.

Socafe Cappuccino Hot Chocolate, Socafe, Newark NJ: Socafe Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate cups are certified by the Orthodox Union as OU-D products. A small quantity of packaging was mistakenly labeled with a plain OU, without the D – Dairy designation. Corrective measures have been implemented.

SPICE N' MORE CORP. of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling its 2.5-oz. containers of "ALL ISLAND SPICE" cumin powder, 7-oz. containers of "CASABLANCA", "H HARVEST", "SPICE CLASS" AND "LEADER MERET" cumin powder and 12-oz containers of "SALMA", "SPICE CLASS", "LA MINA" AND "KEY FOOD" cumin powder purchased from September 23, 2014 to November 30, 2014, because they may contain undeclared peanuts.
The recalled "CASABLANCA", "SALMA", "SPICE CLASS", "LA MINA", "LEADER MERET", "ALL ISLAND SPICE", "KEY FOOD" AND "H-HARVEST" cumin powder were distributed NY, NJ, PA, VA, MD, MI, MA and SC in wholesale and retail stores.
The product comes in 2.5-oz., 7-oz. and 12-oz., clear plastic containers with UPC Codes #07329600144, #81868501051, #02391315908, #81597800822, #81597800423, #63923510835, #63923510117, #63923513235 and #60953908472.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by contamination of the product from its country of origin.
Consumers who have purchased 2.5-oz., 7-oz. and 12-oz. containers of "CASABLANCA", "SALMA", "SPICE CLASS", "LA MINA", "LEADER MERET", "ALL ISLAND SPICE", "KEY FOOD" AND "H-HARVEST" cumin powder are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Napa Valley Mustard Co. Honey Mustard Flavor Pretzel Nuggets are certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU Pareve product. A limited batch of this product was produced with a seasoning blend that contains a dairy ingredient. That limited batch was stickered with a special ingredient and dairy allergen statement, however, the OU symbol on that batch is missing the D - Dairy designation. Corrective measures have been implemented.

From CDPH: the Santa Barbara Smokehouse’s recalled cold-smoked salmon was packed under the Cambridge House, Channel Island Smokehouse, Coastal Harbor, Santa Barbara Smokehouse and Harbor Point brand names, and has pack dates of 8-22-14, 9-17-14 through 9-19-14, and 12-17-14 through 12-24-14. The recalled products were vacuum-packed and distributed as both fresh and frozen products. The CDPH website has a list of the specific product names and codes affected by this recall and product photos.
CDPH recommends not eating any cold-smoked salmon manufactured by Santa Barbara Smokehouse with pack dates between 8-22-14 and 12-24-14. Other brands that may have also been packed during this time frame include: Fresh & Easy, Tetsujin and Imperial House. CDPH also recommends that anyone in possession of those products with those pack dates place the product into a garbage bag and put it in the trash.

MorningStar Farms is issuing a voluntary and precautionary recall of certain code dates of Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers because they may contain undeclared peanut.
MorningStar Farms, Battlecreek, MI was notified by a third party supplier that one of the spice ingredients used in Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers may inadvertently contain peanut, an allergen that is not declared on the products’ ingredient statements.
