The following Canadian kashrus advisory from the COR on September 29, 2014.

Please be advised that due to a product reformulation, Kellogg’s Special K is now DAIRY. The new boxes bear a “COR 246 D”. Future boxes of Special K cereal will bear the full word “DAIRY.” Older boxes that bear a “COR 246” symbol are indeed pareve.

Ed. note: The American Special K is certified kosher and dairy by the Rabbinical Council of New England and bears a KD.

The following South African kashrus alert is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on September 29, 2014.

The Cape Beth Din has withdrawn certification from Mrs Katz's Chickens. Mrs Katz’s Chickens purchased prior to the 18th of September are Kosher.

The following Canadian kashrus alert is from the COR posted on September 23, 2014.

Please be advised that we are seeing an abundance of pomegranates and dates from Israel in our retail market in honour of Rosh Hashana. These fruits are subject to the laws of terumos and maaseros (tithes) such that terumos and maaseros must be separated before they can be consumed.

The COR encouragea consumers to purchase pomegranates and dates from COR certified stores. As of today, COR mashgichim have separated terumos and maaseros at the following stores:

1. Hartman’s North and South Stores - Pomegranates
2. Kosher City – Pomegranates and Dates
3. Sobey’s – Dates
4. TAP - Pomegranates
5. Tastes Like More – Pomegranates

Three pomegranates were inadvertently sold at TAP Supermarket before Terumos and Maaseros were taken. If you purchased a pomegranate at TAP on Thursday, September 18, please call the COR office for instructions.
If you are purchasing fruit from stores that are not supervised by COR then please take care to ensure that terumos and maaseros are separated from Israeli produce.

The following kashrus advisory is from the OU on September 23, 2014.

Wonka SweeTarts Chews, Nestle USA Inc., Glendale CA: The Orthodox Union certifies Wonka SweeTarts Chews as a Pareve product. Some labels were mistakenly printed with an OU-D Dairy mark although this product is Pareve. Corrective measures have been implemented.
