All Kiri and Babybel products bearing the Hechsher of Rabbi M A Bamberger (who passed away in February 2014) that were produced after January 2014 are not kosher certified by Rabbi Bamberger and therefore not approved by the Beth Din.

The following kashrus alert is from the OU on September 9, 2014.

Twining Chai Latte Black Tea, Twinings - Keurig in K-Cup packs are certified by the Orthodox Union as an OU D - Dairy product. This product contains milk as indicated on the cup's label. Some labels and outer boxes were printed without the D - Dairy designation. Corrective measures have been implemented.

Please be advised that CONGREGATION AGUDAS ACHIM is advertising their Texas Kosher BBQ Championship bearing an unauthorized OK kosher symbol on the advertisement. OK KOSHER CERTIFICATION DOES NOT CERTIFY THE BQ CHAMPIONSHIP. Corrective action is being taken.

The following peanut and egg allergy alert is from the FDA on September 5, 2014.

Mars Chocolate North America announced a voluntary recall of its TWIX® Brand Unwrapped Bites 7 oz. Stand Up Pouch with the code date: 421BA4GA60.
Fewer than 25 cases of the stand-up pouches in this single lot code may contain product containing peanuts and eggs without listing them on the ingredient label. The issue was identified after a consumer notified us of peanuts in their TWIX® Unwrapped Bites product.
This specific code date was shipped and distributed to our customers’ warehouses in Indiana, Texas, Oregon, Tennessee and Connecticut. These customers then redistribute products for retail sale nationwide.
The TWIX® Brand Unwrapped Bites product comes in a 7 ounce, metallized-golden package marked with lot # 421BA4GA60 and with an expiration date of 03/2015 stamped on the back.
Mars Chocolate will work with retail customers to ensure that the recalled product is not on store shelves. In the event that consumers believe they have purchased this item and have allergy concerns, they should return this product to the store where they purchased it for a full refund. Consumers with questions or concerns may call our toll-free number, 7 days a week, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (est): 1-800-551-0907.

The following kashrus advisory is from the OU on September 3, 2014.

Smart Balance Buttery Spread Original: Small, 7.5-ounce tubs of Smart Balance Buttery Spread Original (OU-DAIRY) have replaced the older, small tubs of Smart Balance Buttery Spread with Flaxseed Oil (OU-Pareve.) Please check the symbol on Smart Balance containers to confirm dairy or pareve status. Also, other Smart Balance spreads come in regular versions (DAIRY) and light versions (PAREVE.) These include Smart Balance with Omega-3, and Smart Balance with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Please check the symbols accordingly.
In general, Consumer should always check for the presence of a kosher symbol and the Dairy/ Pareve status, especially with similar products within a brand. The status can change or the kosher certification may be removed.

The following South African kashrus advisory is from the Beth Din of Johannesburg on September 3, 2014.

FRANGELICAS – Status of Parev Products: Frangelicas, in Long Avenue, Glenhazel, South Africa is under full time kashrut supervision and comprises two separate kitchens, one milk, and one parev.
All products made in the milk kitchen are milchik, not Chalav Yisrael.
All take-away parev products are made in the parev kitchen on dedicated equipment and are Mehadrin (eg muffins, breads, cakes etc), with the exception of items containing tuna.
