The following kashrus alert is from a reader amd confirmed by the Rabbinical Council of New England on November 1, 2007.

The following Simply Enjoy products are certified as kosher by the KVH. However, the dairy designation has been inadvertently omitted:

  • Simply Enjoy- Chocolate Coated Flourless Cake Bites
  • Simply Enjoy- Cheese Cake Bites
  • Simply Enjoy- Tartlet Assortment

The following kashrus alert is from the Kof-K dated November 1, 2007.

Sam's Club Pumpkin Pie has no dairy designation next to the Kof-K symbol. The pie contains dairy ingredients as indicated on the label. Future packaging will be corrected.

The following kashrus notice isfrom Kosherquest.org on October November 1, 2007 and confirmed by the OK.

Kraft Marshmallow Fluff is kosher, pareve even without the OK on the label. Thre was a printing error and new packaging will have the OK symbol.

The following kashrus alert is from Kosherquest.org on November 1, 2007 and confirmed by Kehilla Kosher.

Deluxe Brand 1/2 gallons of Rocky Road Ice Cream have been mistakenly labeled as Kosher. We are correcting this error so that all future production of the Rocky Road flavor will not carry the Kosher mark. All other flavors bearing the California-K kosher mark are correct as labeled. This product is distributed through retailers on the West Coast. If you have purchased this product in error please return it to the store from whom you purchased it for a refund.

The following kashrus alert is from the KOAOA on October 30, 2007.

Kalamata Feta Hummus produced by Waleed Foods bears and unauthorized Half-Moon K Pareve symbol on the label. This products is not kosher certified, and contains non-kosher ingredients. The product is being recalled. It has been found in Costco stores on the West Coast. Consumers finding this product in other stores besides Costco are asked to contact KOAOA Kosher at info@kosher.org.

The following kashrus announcement is from a newspaper advertisement by Rabbi Binyamin Gruber dated September 12, 2007 and additional information recieved by the editor.

Due to the difficult halachos of Shmita, Rabbi Binyamin Gruber is withholding his heshshar on all produce imported from Israel {Alei Katif) during the year of shmitta.
Ed. note: These products are continuing to be certified by Chug Chasam Sofer(Benei Brak), KAJ, Rabbi Efrati (Jerusalem), Mehadrin Jerusalem, Bedatz Beltz (Israel), Shaaris Yisrel, Batatz London, and Rabbi Kaminetzky at Alei Katif.

Ed note #2: People need to check with their Rabbis to be informed as to what hashgachas are acceptable and CAREFULLY check hashgachas on the packaging of Israel produce before purchasing.
