The following milk allergy alert is from the FDA on April 17, 2014.
Price Chopper Supermarkets is issuing a voluntary recall on its Price Chopper Brand Tuscan White Bean Hummus. The product is being recalled due to it being mislabeled with the ingredient panel for Price Chopper Sweet Potato Hummus, which does not declare that the product contains parmesan cheese, a known allergen. Other than this labeling issue, the product is safe for consumption for those not allergic to cheese. The affected products were produced and purchased between March 19, 2014 and April 14, 2014.
Customers who have any of the affected product should return it to their local Price Chopper for a full refund. Gold Emblem White Fudge Covered Pretzels Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels, CVS Inc. Woonsocket RI: The Orthodox Union certifies Gold Emblem White Fudge Covered Pretzels and Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels as OU D-Dairy products. These products contain milk, as indicated in the allergens and ingredients statements. Some packaging was mistakenly printed with a plain OU symbol without the D-Dairy designation. Corrective measures have been implemented.

The following updated food safety alert is from the FDA on April 9, 2014.
Frontier Natural Products Co-op is voluntarily recalling several of its products manufactured with organic black peppercorns that were sold under its Frontier and Simply Organic brands, Whole Foods Market 365 Everyday Value, Nature’s Place and others due to potential Salmonella contamination. To date, no illnesses have been associated with these products.
While the product in question was steam pasteurized at the source and tested negative for Salmonella by Frontier Natural Products Co-op, there is a small risk that Salmonella may still be present based on a positive, random test that was recently conducted. Frontier Natural Products Co-op is immediately initiating added precautions to the safety of the supply chain to mitigate any future occurrence.
Recalled products were sold in all 50 states and in some parts of Canada to distributors, retailers and consumers. Below is the list of products containing the organic black peppercorn:

Foodfest International 2000 Inc. is recalling Elite Bittersweet Chocolate from the marketplace because it contains milk which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to milk should not consume the recalled product described below.

Effective April 1, 2014, Royal Caterers of Fresh Meadows, NY is no longer certified by STAR-K Kosher Certification. This includes all kosher events at Crest Hollow Country Club, Woodbury, NY and Leonards, Great Neck, NY etc. which are no longer STAR-K certified.
Royal Caterers has been under the OK Certification since March 10, 2014.
