Lily’s Sweets Voluntarily Recalls Lily’s Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips Due to Undeclared Presence of Soy Lecithin

January 14, 2022 from the FDA.

Lily’s Sweets, is voluntarily recalling 18,855 cases of 7-ounce Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips due to the presence of soy lecithin. People who have a severe allergy or sensitivity to soy should not consume these products.

The product was a limited holiday seasonal offering available exclusively at Walmart stores in the United States. The impacted products are identified in the table below. No other Lily’s products are included in this recall.

The error was discovered after consumers contacted the company and reported finding the white candy pieces mixed with Lily’s Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips. We have determined that the error occurred at a co-manufacturer. The white disc-shaped candy pieces contain soy lecithin, sugar, and other ingredients that are not present in Lily’s Peppermint Flavor chips. Individuals with a severe allergy to soy should not consume this product. Kashrut Alert: Dr. John's Sea Salt Caramels and Dr. John's Pecan Caramels

Dr. John's chocolate products containing caramel are certified as cRc- Dairy. The Dr. John's Sea Salt Caramel and Dr. John's Pecan Caramel labels incorrectly have the cRc pareve logo when in fact they contain dairy. Corrective action has been taken.

Poppies International Expands Voluntary Recall of Chocolate Enrobed and Cream Puff Products Due to Presence of Metal

Any consumers who have purchased or received any of the products described below should immediately discontinue use of the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Poppies International, Inc. of Battleboro, NC is expanding their voluntary recall to include the Taste of Inspirations Crème Puffs 30ct container, UPC 7 25439 99597 9, Lot # L2I5021 Best Before Date 06/08/23 that were made during December 7-10, 2021, due to the possible presence of small metal fragments. The issue was discovered during production. To date no injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with the recalled items. See below for product list, UPCs, and “best before” dates, which may be found on the side of the containers.

The product included in the recall was available for sale from December 16-23, 2021 and can be identified by the lot numbers and best before dates which can be found on the side of each tub by the lid:

his year, due to Pesach having fallen early in the Spring, the Chashash Chodosh has increased greatly.Those who are particular with products containing a chance of chodosh chutz l'aretzThe exception to this, is all Kellogg’s cereals with code 0345 or 0346 printed on the packaging, which are ןשי all the way through to חספ, besides for Special K range,Froot Loops, Rice Krispies Multigrain Shapes, & All-Bran Original (shreds).

We can confirm that Mornflake Oats, Nestlé Cheerios & Gluten Free Cornflakes, are yoshonי.

Cereals with an earlier production date than November, will be easier to find in the smallersupermarkets and grocery stores, than in the bigger stores.

Israeli Kashrut Alert: Sapir- Fish Market, Northern Ashkelon

They are using the Kashrut Logo of the Institute for Kashrut of Eretz Yisroel even though they do not have a certificate from the Institute.. After returning several times they continue to use the Kashrus symbol whhich they have forged. Complaints have been given to the authorites. The various items are not under our supervision. Some Trader Joe’s soycutash recalled for concerns about Listeria contamination

January 8, 2022 from the Food Safety News:

Sno Pac Foods Inc. of Caledonia, MN, if recalling Trader Joe’s brand soycutash from a store in Monrovia, CA, because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

"The recalled items has an item number of 99319 and is a mix of sweet corn, shelled edamame and red bell peppers. The product is sole in 16-ounce packages.

"The product is labeled as “Keep Frozen” and has a UPC number of 0099-3197.

"Some of the soycutash has a lot code of SOM2.309.1C and a use-by date of 11/05/23. Other packages of the product have a lot code of SOM1.310.1C and a use-by date of 11/06/23. There are also recalled packages with a lot code of SOM1.315.1C and a use by date of 11/11/23.

"There is concern that consumers may have unused portions of the soycutash in their homes because the use-by dates run into N
