The following Passover information is from the OV for Passover, 2005.

Some general Pesach product information:

  • Play dough is Chometz.
  • Some national "kosher" brands produce Pesach and non-Pesach foods. Be sure to look for Pesach certification on Goodmans, Osem, Mrs. Alder's, Rokeach, Streits, Season, Victor, Manischewitz, Mothers, Horowitz-Margareten, Friendship, Breakstone, Carmel and Telma.
  • Powdered rice cereals should be considered chometz as they may be produced on chometz equipment.
  • Baby food jars (i.e. fruits & vegetables) should be considered chometz as they may have been produced on chometz equipment.
  • Elastics and rubber bands used with braces may be coated with cornstarch (even though no mention of cornstarch may appear on the package) and should be rinsed well under cold water before use during Passover.
  • Balloons may have a powdered coating on the inside and should not be blown up by mouth during Passover.

The following Passover information is from the Atlanta Kashrus Commission for Passover, 2005.

The following products are NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PASSOVER:

  1. Any marshmallow products without reliable supervision. (Atlantic Gourmet is not recommended.)
  2. Joyva products
  3. Magen David wine
  4. Items such as raisins and dried fruits, which year round do not have such stringent kosher supervision requirements, should have reliable supervision for Passover.
  5. Claritin RediTabs, Comtrex Liquid, Ensure with Fiber, Kaopectate,
  6. Lactaid Caplets, Lanacane Spray, Metamucil Wafers, Niacin Timed, Release Tabs, Senekot Syrup or Granules
  7. Medicinal Ingredients: Avina Sativa, Beta Glucan, Prolamine, Secale, Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids, Triticum Vulgare.

The following Passover information is from the Star-K for Passover, 2005.

The following products are acceptable for Pesach:

  • Sunmaid Raisins - with a Pesach kosher symbol
  • Sunsweet Prunes - with a Pesach kosher symbol
  • Sunsweet Prune Juice - (except for the 48 oz. size) with a Pesach kosher symbol

The following Passover salad information is from Kosherquest.org, for Passover, 2005.

Fresh Express salads require O/K/p for Passover use. This product may have a residue of citric acid in the initial wash but should be fine if purchased before Pesach.

O/U certified peeled carrots are usable for Passover without Pesach certification.

Dole pre-washed salads and other salads bearing a Star-K are kosher for Passover and year-round (with the exception of Very Veggie with Snow Peas).

The following is information on fresh packaged vegetables bearing the certification of Kosher Overseers:
All the broad leaf products eg. romaine, iceberg etc. require the kfp logo. The curly items, eg. spring mix, spinach, etc. require no logo, but rather require the "used by" date codes from april 15 to april 30.

The following Passover alert is from the OU for Passover, 2005.

There has been a change in the OU policy regarding Instant Coffee. Because of the presence of maltodextrins, only coffee bearing an OU-P symbol or brands below should be used. Both Folger’s and Taster’s Choice instant coffee remain acceptable. Other brands should be checked in the Directory. Ground coffee remains acceptable from any source as long as it is unflavored and not decaffeinated. The following brands do not need an OU-P to be usable for Passover:
CLOVER VALLEY, Regular Coffee
FOLGERS, Regular Coffee
GLENCOURT, Regular Coffee
Safeway Canada
KEY FOOD, Regular Coffee
MCDANIELS, Regular Coffee
Save-A-Lot
TASTER’S CHOICE

The following Passover clarification is from Kosherquest.org, for Passover, 2005.

Be sure to note the difference between the two types of Ko-Sure Hot Chocolate Mixes. One - Instant Hot Cocoa Mix has the Star-Kp and is Kosher for Pesach. The other Ko-Sure Chocolate Mocha Mix (also under the Star-K) is NOT Kosher for Pesach.

The following Passover alert is from Kosherquest.organd confirmed by the KSA for Passover, 2005.

Perricone’s Fresh Juices from Beaumont Juice Co., are certifed kosher for pesach by the KSA. The following products bear the KSA-P: Fresh Squeezed grapefruit juice, lemon juice, lemonade,lime juice,orange juice,organic orange juice, tangarine juice, margarita mix,calcium fortified orange juice,apple juice juice.

The following Passover alert is from the Kof-K for Passover, 2005.

The KOF-K provides its kosher certification to all products manufactured by JOYVA for year-round use EXCEPT for Passover. Products manufactured by JOYVA as Kosher for Passover are certifies by Rabbi Sheinkoff and are not certified by the KOF-K.

The following Passover information is from Rabbi Eidlitz on March 18, 2005 and confirmed by Kehilla Kosher.

Effective March 1,2005 all kosher fresh beef under the S'Better Farms label in Albertsons supermarkets in Southern California and Nevada is Lubavitch Shechita . These products bear the O/K symbol and when cooked are Bishul Yisroel. All baked products are Pas Yisroel. Beginning with Purim all of the local processing for Albertsons will be Kosher for Pesach and will be under the supervision of Kehilla Kosher

Please note that the COR Passover flyer shows that Park Avenue Gourmet Products will be available for Passover. The COR has just received notification that they will not be authorized for Passover use this year
