The following kashrus alert is from received from the OU on January 30, 2001.

Paper Con, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX and Los Angeles, CA was misrepresenting non-OU certified Paper Con Quilan as certified by presenting an OU Letter of Certification. The Orthodox Union does not certify this product. (Product packaging does not bear the OU symbol).

The following kashrus alert is from received from the Orthodox Union Daf HaHashrus of November, 2000.

Following extensive testing of RASPBERRIES it has been determined that because of high infestation of insects, the Orthodox Union can no longer certify fresh or whole frozen raspberries. The level of infestation is at least that of Me'ut Hamatzoi (over 10%) and possibly may be considered Mochzik (presumed present).

  • The following amino acids:Alanine, L-Arginine, L-Aspargine, Glycine, L-Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Phenylaline, Proline, Serine, Threonine, L-Tyrosine, L-Valine
  • Azelaic Acid

Nikken Foods Baby Clam Seasoning Extract Powder, Natural Lobster Flavor Poweder and Natural Crab Flavor Powder were mistakenly mislabeled as kosher with KOAA's Symbol. This erroroneous symbol has been removed from all bulk bags and containers.

Due to kashrus violations, effective immediately, the Kof-K has terminated its supervision of Exelpro, Los Angeles, CA and Northern Utah Manufacturing, Inc. , Wellsville, UT.

The following notice was received from the Kof-K on August 23, 2000.

Despite rumors to the contrary, there are no negotiations between these companies and the Kof-K for reinstatement.
Should any product appear in a facility bearing the Kok-K trademark, please notify the Kof-K office immmediately.
