January 11, 2017: The CFoodNews and Telegraph:
The British Food Standards Agency has suggested that stores provide a plastic bags to put raw chicken packages in to "help to stop the spread of bacteria that can be present on the outside of the packaging, from contaminating other foods in the consumer’s shopping basket." They are particularly concerned in places that charge for plastic shopping bags because people are then less likely to pay for a separate bag to put the chicken.
