The following Passover alert was from the Chicago Rabbinical Council Kosher Consumer, March, 2002.
In the past all unflavored, regular coffee was kosher for Pesach without special Pesach certification. This remains true with one important exception, the Nestle Company now manufactures in their Canadian plant other products that compromise the kosher L'Pesach status of their instant coffee. For Pesach, Nescafe and other various private labels which are manufactured in Canada, are therefore not recommended. Other national brands, such as Chock Full o' Nuts, Eight O'clock, Folgers, Taster's Choice, Maxwell House and Sanka do not have this issue.
