Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) of New Ulm, Minn., is recalling dry whey powder packaged in 50-pound and 25-kg bags that were produced at the cooperative’s Blair, Wis., dry whey plant from May 1-5, 2018; May 24-29, 2018; June 2-5, 2018; and June 7-14, 2018 due to the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. This is a precautionary recall. All products shipped to the marketplace tested negative for salmonella.
The products included in the recall can be identified by the following lot numbers, which can be found printed along the top of the bag. Images of the bags can be found below.
June 21, 2018: from USDA:
Agri Star Meat and Poultry LLC, a Postville, Iowa establishment, is recalling approximately 3,592 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) beef pastrami products due to processing deviations that may have led to underprocessing of products and resulted in inadequate curing, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The RTE beef pastrami items were produced on April 3 and April 4, 2018. The following products are subject to recall: [View Labels (PDF only)]
The problem was discovered on June 20, 2018, after the firm received a consumer complaint about product discoloration. The firm conducted an investigation and product testing and determined that not all products contained an adequate amount of the curing solution. The establishment notified FSIS on June 21, 2018.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.

Chef's Quality Multi Grain Tortillas, RD Foodservice, College Point NY are not Pas Yisroel.
The Orthodox Union certifies Chef's Quality Multi Grain Tortillas as an OU pareve product. A limited amount of bags were printed with the words 'Pas Yisroel' on them. This product is not Pas Yisroel. Corrective actions are being implemented.

International Harvest, Inc of Mount Vernon, NY is recalling 14,620 lbs. of bulk and 24,270 bags of Organic Go Smile! Raw Coconut, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
The product was distributed to customers via online retailers, retail stores, and distributors. Product was directly distributed to the following states: NY, NJ, CT, CA, CO, OK, GA, VT, IL, FL, ME, WA, NH, and UT.

March 19, 2018 from the Food Safety News and PrNewswire:
"A grocery chain in the Pacific Northwest is recalling several deli salads, wraps and other products because they include diced onions from Taylor Farms of Salinas, CA, that are potentially contaminated with Salmonella."
"Neither Taylor Farms not the Food and Drug Administration had posted any recall information for diced yellow onions from the California company."
March 9, 2018 from the FDA:
Starwest Botanicals is voluntarily recalling Starwest Botanicals Organic Cardamom Pods Green (Whole), which is packaged in Mylar 1 pound bags and in bulk packs.
The product was sold nationwide by several different methods. It was either shipped directly to Starwest Botanicals customers who purchased online from firm’s website or mail order customers, or held for pickup up by the customer at Starwest Botanicals. The product was sold between January 15, 2018 and March 2, 2018.
The lot number of Starwest Botanicals Organic Cardamom Pods Green (Whole) 1 pound with UPC 7-6796302528-9 included in this recall. The item# 209735-01 and lot number (75593) can be found on the label affixed to the bag.
The lot number of Starwest Botanicals Organic Cardamom Pods Green (Whole) bulk pack with UPC 7-6796302527-2 included in this recall. The item# 209735-00 and lot number (90186-00) can be found on the label affixed to the bulk pack.
Consumers in possession of this voluntary recalled product may return it to Starwest Botanicals in Sacramento, CA for a full refund. Consumers or media with questions should contact Starwest at 1-800-800-4372 (Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm PST).
