Passover Kashrut Information: Heinz Tomato Ketchup

March 30, 2023 From Kosherquest.org:

This year a specific run of Heinz Ketchup is being produced under the Tartikov Hashgacha. This product is Kitniyos free.

Last year, the Heinz Ketchup production, certified by the “KF” from London, did, inadvertently, contain Kitniyos. Any left over bottles from last year should only be used by those who eat Kitniyos on Pesach.


Passover Kashrut Alert: Heinz Tomato Ketchup

March 21, 2022 From KF Kosher:

Heinz tomato ketchup has been specially produced under our supervison for passover 5782

Only those bottles labelled "KOSHER FOR PASSOVER" are supervised for passover.

Please note: due to supply issues, the product is kosher for passover - KITNIYOS

Unfortunately, some bottles have been incorrectly labeled without kitniyos designation. However, all Heinz Tomato Ketchup labeled "KOSHER FOR PASSOVER" contains KITNIYOS.

(Next year, the product is expected to be KOSHER FOR PASSOVER LIMEHADRIN WITHOUT KITNIYOS).

March 29, 2022: Additional information from KF Kosher based on a question from the editor:

The Passover Heinz Ketchup under KF Kosher with Hebrew lettering is also Kitniot.

Kashrus Alert - Dole Creamy Coleslaw Kit

Dole Creamy Coleslaw Kit, Dole Fresh Vegetables is mislabeled:
A limited quantity of Dole’s Creamy Coleslaw Kit was mistakenly labeled with the OK P symbol.
While the cabbage/salad is approved for Passover, the enclosed sealed dressing packet is NOT approved for Passover.
Please be reminded that Dole products are only OK certified when bearing the OK symbol ink-jetted on the bags per approved batch.
Only bags ink-jetted with the OK P symbol are certified for Passover.
Corrective actions are being taken.

Recalled Elite products have been seen in stores

Recalled Elite products have been seen in stores, particularly the Chcolate bars which are certified for Passover. Check any products that you have purchased or have in you house to ensure that they have not been recalled.


Health Alert: Elite Product Recall Spring 2022

posted May 9, 2022 by the editor. The Elite products have been recalled in the Spring of 2022 and may show up in stores for 2023 or be in customers cabinets:

Alert from Kayco: "All Elite chocolate products produced at the confectionery factory in Nof Hagalil in Israel, regardless of when they were produced, are NOT for consumption and should be removed from the shelves immediately. The recall pertains to all Elite chocolate products (tablets and impulse bars), Elite cakes, Elite waffles, Energy Cereal Bars, Elite chocolate coated rice cakes, Elite chocolate spreads, Elite Must & Bazooka chewing gum and Elite Toffee candies."
