September 11, 2026 - from the Vermont agency of agriculture food & markets
Leaping Bear Farm of Reading Vermont, in cooperation with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, is recalling chicken eggs with cartons dated between June 1, 2026, and September 5, 2026. The effected eggs are potentially contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis bacteria.
Eggs were distributed in cartons with Leaping Bear Farm's logo and labeled as Grade A Pasture Raised Organic Eggs. An example of the affected eggs is shown below.
VAAFM is aware that some products may still be at retail locations or in consumers' homes. Consumers who have purchased Leaping Bear Farm eggs at the locations listed below are urged not to consume them. Affected eggs should be discarded in the trash. Eggs should not be composted. Items and surfaces that may have touched affected eggs should be cleaned using hot soapy water or a dishwasher. Anyone concerned about symptoms should contact a healthcare provider.
