The following kashrus notice is from Kof-K on August 12, 2008
Recently, an Oberweis Ice Cream Store has opened on Lincoln Ave. in Lincolnwood, IL. Although the store personnel have been very cooperative with the kosher clientele, the store itself is presently not under any kosher supervision, and only those ice creams as listed on their Letter Of Certification (LOC), are kosher (cholov stam) under the certification of the cRc.
Their LOC can be viewed on the cRc website at www.crcweb.org/kosher/industry/LOC/Oberweis%20Dairy.pdf.
The plain ice cream may be considered kosher if you are certain that it is one of the flavors listed on their LOC. However, none of the other items sold in the store can be considered kosher unless you have made that determination each time you visit that location. This includes any toppings, cones, cakes, beverages or anything else they may be selling.
