The following yoshon update is from the Star-k Keepingyoukurrent for July 2009..

Yoshon-Below is the Last packing date when one can asume the following items are Yoshon without any special designation:

• Oats - July 26, 2009
• Wheat (flour) and Barley - August 7, 2009
• Malt - October 15, 2009

All items after the above packing dates must bear a Yoshon markig that is baked by an approved kosher certifying agency. Please note that this year, General Mills has decided to discontinue their Yoshon program which they used in previous years. Instead, all vendors who wish to offer Yoshon using GM flour needed for their Baltimore/Washington area kosher customers. Only those items that have Yoshon printed on the product is acceptable.
