The following health alert is from the FDA on November 4, 2011.
Badia Spices, Inc, is recalling approximately 3,800 lbs. of Pinenuts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis. The pine nuts were sold in retail stores in FL, NY, PA, MD, and NJ - between June 2011 and October 2011. No illnesses have been reported for any Badia brand pine nuts.

The following health alert is from the CFIA on November 11, 2011.
The previous public warning issued on November 4, 2011 has been amended to correct the lot code of the Sysco brand product. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and David Roberts Food Corporation are warning the public not to consume certain David Roberts brand and Sysco brand pine nuts, described below, because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The following health alert is from the FDA on October 26, 2011.
Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. Rochester, NY is recalling approximately 5,000 lbs. of Turkish Pine Nuts sold in the Bulk Foods department of most Wegmans stores in NY, PA, NJ, VA, and MD between July 1 and October 18, 2011 due to possible Salmonella contamination. This recall only applies to Turkish Pine Nuts sold in bulk. Other pine nuts sold at Wegmans are not affected by this recall. The recalled Turkish pine nuts were imported from Turkey by Sunrise Commodities of Englewood Cliffs, N.J.
The recalled product was not sold at the company’s Northborough, Massachusetts store, which opened on Sunday, October 16.
Consumers who have purchased this product should discard any that remains in their homes and visit the service desk at Wegmans for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Wegmans consumer affairs department toll free at 1(800) WEGMANS (934-6267) Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
