The following kashrus alert is from the Atlanta Kashruth Commission on November 19, 2013 with additional information from the COR Detroit on November 27, 2013.

Some brands of Milk Chocolate Chanukah Coins, like Jerusalem Gold, found in Walmart and Kroger stores do not have a reliable hechsher and should not be eaten.
From COR Detroit: 18 Billion Happy Hanukkah” chocolate bar from Russell Stover Candies, sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, bears no Kosher marking and is not a Kosher product. (The Bartons “Million Dollar Bar” and Cost Plus “Chanukah Pasta” sold there do bear reliable certifications.)

Ed. note: Consumers must check for the kosher symbol on all products at all times, but particularly near holidays.
