Many NATIONAL & MAJOR BRANDS OF BREAD [such as Arnold, Beefsteak, Bimbo, Brownberry, Bunny, Freihofer’s, Sara Lee and others] have Kosher certification on some products. Consumers should be aware that in most cases, only some varieties are certified, while others are not and do not bear any Kosher marking. In addition, some companies have many plants, of which some have reliable certification, and others may have an unreliable certification or none at all. Consequently, even the same brand of bread may on some packages bear reliable certification, and on other packages have unreliable or no certification. It is imperative to always scrutinize every package label for a reliable certification symbol.
August 3, 2016 - From Kashrus Magazine:
Freihofer Bread is made by Bimbo. Many of their Freihofer breads are made in both kosher-certified bakeries and non-certified bakeries. The same name bread may appear in one store with an "OU" or a "KOF-K" and in another store with no hechsher, having been manufactured in a non-kosher facility. It is imperative to scrutinize the label.
