There are now flours on the retail market that may already contain Chodosh. Dates are being updated to yoshon.com and the printable guide will bez”h be sent out later this week. Many companies are anticipating that the first Chodosh products will be produced starting in the next few weeks and will enter the retail market shortly thereafter. We will bez”H be updating the product listings with whatever information is available so far. This means that while it is unlikely that any products containing Chodosh are already on the retail market as of today (other than fresh baked goods), they can enter the market very soon and, as such, it is prudent to begin checking date codes this week already.

• WHEAT: All Purpose, Bread and Whole Wheat Flour
  To hopefully simplify things as updates come in, here is the list of flours for which we have updated information.
  • Aldi – Bakers Corner – 9/3/2025
  • Costco – Kirkland 9/6/2025
  • Dependable – Always Yoshon
  • Glicks – Always Yoshon
  • Kemach – Currently all Yoshon
  • King Arthur – Aug 18, 2025
  • Publix – Winter Wheat. Malt 12/15/24
  • Sam’s Club/Members Mark – 9/6/25
  • Shoprite Bowl & Basket – Best Buy Date 3/6/2026
  • Target Good & Gather or Market Pantry – Best Buy Date 2/27/2026
  • Walmart/Great Value:
    • All Purpose & Bread – 8/27/25
    • Self-Rise – Winter Wheat. Malt 12/15/24
    • Wonder Mills (from E”Y) – Always Yoshon
  • Gold Medal and Pillsbury – there is still some uncertainty regarding the expiration codes for these flours, as these can be processed at many different mills, with expiration codes varying between 12-18 months for all purpose and bread flour, and can be as short as 6-12 months for whole wheat. We hope to have more information in the near future. The KC mill uses all winter wheat and if machmir for shared mill, the code can be from 8/4/25 -2/4/26. And for whole wheat it can be between 2/4/25 – 8/4/25.

  DEFAULT CUTOFF DATES: Below are the default cutoff dates for retail items for each type of grain. Note this information is for consumer/retail products only.

  For bulk or commercial products, including pastas and flours, please contact your local kashrus agency, as the supply chain works differently for the commercial markets.

• BARLEY: September 15
• OATS: September 15
• WHEAT
  • Fresh Baked Goods – September 1
  • Other wheat products, pastas and packaged goods – September 15
• RYE and SPELT: These are always Yoshon in North America.
