• NEWLY CERTIFIED SABBATH MODE MODELS:
  STAR-K has recently certified nearly 600 new models of refrigerators/freezers, including from Frigidaire, KitchenAid, LG, Liebherr, Perlick, Sub-Zero and Whirlpool, among many others.

• Halacha PSA Regarding Moving Shelves in Refrigerators or Freezers: It has come to our attention that some believe that it is permitted to reposition shelves in refrigerators or freezers on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Rav Moshe Heinemann shlit"a and other leading poskim rule that moving these shelves involves the melacha of Boneh (building) and therefore is prohibited.
  In addition, some appliances have lighting in the shelves which may go off when the shelf is moved, which is also prohibited. Therefore, one should take care not to jostle the shelves while loading and unloading items as doing so may cause these lights to flicker.
