Nestlé vows to eliminate use of synthetic colors in US by mid-2026

- "The Nesquick and DiGiorno maker said more than 90% of its U.S. portfolio does not include synthetic dyes.
- "The CPG manufacturer joins General Mills and Kraft Heinz in pledging to remove artificial colors from its portfolio amid pressure from the White House to use more natural ingredients and improve the health profile of products consumers eat and drink."
General Mills to remove artificial colors from US cereals and foods

- "General Mills said it will work to remove artificial colors from its U.S. retail portfolio by the end of 2027. It also committed to removing synthetic dyes from its U.S. cereals and foods served in K-12 schools by the summer of 2026.
- "The Trix and Lucky Charms maker said the change will impact “only a small portion” of its school portfolio and 15% of its U.S. retail portfolio.
- "General Mills’ announcement marks the second food company this week to commit to removing the controversial ingredients from its portfolio. Kraft Heinz made a similar pledge on Tuesday.
Kraft Heinz to remove artificial colors in US products by end of 2027

- "Kraft Heinz said it would remove artificial colors from its products by the end of 2027 and would no longer add synthetic dyes to new offerings. The food and beverage maker estimated 10% of its U.S. products by net sales contain artificial colors.
- "The Crystal Light and Kool-Aid maker said it would remove dyes that are “not critical to the consumer experience,” replace them with natural colors, or invent new colors where matching natural replacements are not available.
- "The move comes as the Trump administration pushes food and beverage companies to remove synthetic dyes from their products. The FDA in April asked the industry to voluntarily remove six synthetic dyes before 2027.
