– Kayco, a Bayonne, NJ based company, is advising of a Market Withdrawal of a limited amount of their Ta’amti 17.6 oz Passover Gluten Free Potato Bourekas. In some instances; Packages may be labeled as “Gluten Free Potato Bourekas” but contains Gluten Free Mushroom Bourekas, both bourekas – Mushroom and Potato are gluten free and Kosher for Passover. Although mushrooms are not considered a common food allergy, they can trigger an allergic reaction among people sensitive to mushrooms.
This market withdrawal was initiated when the company received a notification by our QC regarding the mislabeling. The company has received no reports of illness or injury to date. We immediately informed all retailers who had purchased this lot code about this withdrawal and instructed them to inspect their inventory or remove any potential affected product on their shelves.
