Papa Falcone Flat Fillets of Anchovies(manufactured by Coujda) mistakenly bears an OU P and is not certified for Pesach by the Orthodox Union. It is, however, certified as Kosher for year-round use only.

The following information was received by fax from the Orthodox Union on March 8, 2000.

Meme Helene Grilled Peppers distributed by Emeth Distributors, LaCournvue, France, bears an unauthorized OU-P and is NOT certified for Pesach by the Orthodox Union. This product of France is certified by Rabbi Moshe Alloun as Kosher Le'Pesach L'Ochalei Kitnios. (Kosher for Passover for people who eat Kitnios).

The following information was received from the Merkaz website on March 24, 1999 .

Fresh Express Pre-washed Fresh Vegetables mistakenly bear an OK-P on some varieties (such as "Veggie Lovers",) that contain SNOW PEAS which are kitnios. Please check the ingredient listing on every package. Packages bearing an OK-P that do not list snow peas are kosher for Pesach.

IMPORTANT PESACH ALERT

The following information was received by fax from Aron Streit Inc. and the Kof-K on March 23, 1999.

The Kof-K has withdrawn its certification of certain products made by BP Gourmet. BP Gourmet packaged some Passover products for Streit's. In the interest of continued devotion to Kashruth and the Jewish community, Aaron Streit's asks that the following products not be used for Passover 1999:

Caramel Fudge Brownies Raspberry Fudge Brownies Vanilla Nut Cookies
Asst. Fancy Cookies Amaretto Nut Cookies Rainbow Nonpareil Cookies
Cinnamon Raisin Biscotti Chocolate Fudge Biscotti Vanilla Irvings

USEFUL INFORMATION

The following information was received by correspondence with the Orthodox Union on March 19, 1999 in response to reader's questions.
Canned pineapple in its own juce canned in the US is acceptable for Passover.

Powdered milk with an OU-D may be purchased prior to Passover and used on Passover.

The following information was received by correspondence with the Organized Kashruth Laboratories
Fresh Express salads will be available for Passover with an OK-P.

The following information was received in response to a reader's question.
Polar Gingerale with a Diamond K and Kosher For Passover on the lid mistakenly lists corn syrup on the ingredient list instead of sugar. This product is made with sugar.

The following information was received by fax from the Kof-K on March 19, 1999.

BP Gourmet and Frieda's Kitchen Cookies and Baked Goods bear an unauthorized Kof-K Kosher for Passover designation. They are NOT certified Kosher for Passover and are being recalled. Please return these products before Pesach as they may be CHOMETZ.

Amazon Natural Treasures, Las Vegas, NV has advertised Touch of Nature Sugar Substitute as OU-P (Kosher for Passover). Advertisements appeared in Kashrus Magazine and possibly other periodicals. This product is not certified as kosher by the Orthodox Union.

UNGER'S TOMATO PASTE and MEHADRIN MOZZARELLA CHEESE were mistakenly labeled with kosher for Passover certification. They are kosher but not kosher for Pasover.
